Mother's Day 2013
I had such a wonderful Mother's Day this year.
Eric let me sleep in, which is really the best gift any mother of a one year old can have! I woke up to a delicious breakfast of over-medium eggs and toast (one of my many pregnancy cravings) along with presents, cards, and a bouquet of beautiful flowers. Eric sure knows how to make me feel special! I really couldn't have asked for anything more.
We had a wonderful morning at home then headed up to my parents' sacrament meeting to see my sister Sydney talk. We were all blown away by what an amazing job she did and the poise and maturity that she spoke with. She will be graduating from high school in the next couple of weeks, and I am so proud of the beautiful person she has grown to become.
We spent the rest of the day with my family and I absolutely loved every minute of it. My family is so special to me. I have especially loved spending time with them since having Brody and love watching the relationships that they each have with them develop. Since I've been working 2 days a week this past year, Brody gets to spend a lot of time with each of them and it's obvious that he loves them all so much. Especially now with the possibility of us moving soon as we are making employment decisions, spending each moment we can with my family is extra special. I will miss them all so much if we do end up moving.
Being a mother and wife are the most important and rewarding roles I have in my life. I thank my Heavenly Father every day for the blessing that I have to be a mother to my special Brody boy and this little baby girl who will be joining our family soon. The love that I feel for them is overwhelming and the love that I feel from them is what I live for. I'm also so incredibly grateful for the example I have had throughout my life from my own mother. She exemplifies the roll of loving mother and I don't know what I would do without her example and support in my life.
Hooray for moms!
