I am absolutely loving the stage that Brody is in right now. There are so many precious things about him that I just never want to forget, like the way his laugh is the sweetest sound my hears have ever heard when I tickle him and how excited he gets when Eric gets home from work. I hope I never forget the way he throws his hands up in the air and yells dada as he reaches for him as Eric reaches the top of the stairs and comes into sight.
He is such a trooper whenever we're out running errands and loves looking around at other people, especially kids. He is usually great in the car and loves his front-facing carseat, but he can get a little antsy on the long drives home in traffic on the days I have to work. He is easily calmed by singing him a song (especially The Wheels on the Bus...), reaching back and holding his hand, or giving him a book. He is a little bookworm and absolutely loves looking at books.
I will never be able to express enough how grateful I am for what a wonderful sleeper Brody has always been. Right now he usually takes two naps a day that are around 2-3 hours each (around 10-12:30 and 3-5:30) and then he sleeps 11-12 hours a night. There are days when he'll sleep in until 8 or 9, and on those days he'll usually just take one long nap in the afternoon. I'm so grateful for the time I have to get things done around the house or just relax and rest this pregnant belly of mine. I know that once this next little munchkin joins our family the relaxation time with decrease dramatically, so I'm trying to find the balance between enjoying it while I can but not getting too used to it.
Brody started walking this past month, which has been such a fun milestone to watch him develop. I was starting to worry as each month passed and he still had very little interest in doing anything but crawling, but he's doing great and walking better and better each day now. His curiosity grows more and more every day, and we are always finding him exploring new things. Now that the weather is getting nice, he absolutely loves being outside, although he seems a little hesitant with grass which always makes us laugh. If nothing else, this has helped him with his walking because he doesn't like crawling in it!
Brody has his always developed his teeth a little earlier than most. His molars are now fully grown in and now all four canines are starting to pop through his gums. He has always been such a trooper with teething and I love seeing his big toothy grin every time he smiles.
One of my favorite things about this stage Brody is in is that he loves to organize things. He loves to clear everything out of a container then put everything back in, over and over again. We always laugh because he can make huge messes, but a lot of the times he cleans up after himself!
I just love my little buddy so much and can't wait for all of the adventures we have ahead of us!
Loving his first ride on the train! |
At Scheels. Brody was a little too concerned about the situation to look at the camera. |
A little light reading in the car. |
