Matt and Jen's Wedding

Matt is Eric's best friend. He married Jenny on June 4, 2011 and we were more than excited to be able to be a part of the celebration.

We had so much fun at Matt's wedding. Unfortunately, the real world called and we had to leave the reception at around 11 pm in order to get home for work on Monday. Thanks, Matt and Jen, for such a fun day and for being so great!

We love you and can't wait to see all of our wonderful friends again at Thanksgiving.

Brewer Game & Night With the Soon-to-be Suttons

I love going to Wisconsin. And what would a trip to Wisconsin be without going to a Brewer game??? We had been planning on going to Milwaukee for Eric's best friend Matt's wedding for over a year, but we were planning on making it a quick trip. We ended up taking a little bit of extra work off so we could drive over and enjoy some extra time with family. We left Friday after work and drove, drove, drove til we made it 24 hours later to the home land. We are really getting the trip down to a science, and believe it or not I actually enjoy it! We take turns driving and sleeping and will occasionally pull over at a truck stop, lay back our seats and catch some zzz's for a few hours. I'm sure the ease and fun of the trip won't quite be the same when we have kids someday, but we will enjoy it until then!

We started the trip off right with a little extra drive to Milwaukee to catch a Brewer vs Giants game at the one and only Miller Park. It was fun to get the chance to spend some time with the soon-to-be newlyweds before all of the wedding madness began. And the Brewers won, which made it that much more enjoyable. :)
Ahhhh.... Miller Park...
Love the racing sausages!
Oh hey Prince... how's it goin Ryan...

This is Eric in his ideal environment... at a Brewers game sitting next to Matt (and me too, I guess). Gotta love it.
The ultimate Brewers fans. One week before the wedding!

That night we went to see The Toys, Matt and Jen's favorite cover band, and they were awesome! In Milwaukee throughout the summer they have a bunch of festivals/carnivals where they have bands come and play, and it really is such a fun atmosphere!
You can see the fun carnival rides in the background.
Matt is really lovin that Diet Pepsi! :)

Carcassonne

Carcassonne is one of our very favorite games to play. We had a really fun game night a few weekends ago with one of our favorite gaming couples, Sean-Paul and Jen. We spend many weekend nights til wee hours of the morning playing games with these two and this night was no exception. Carcassonne is unique because you build the board as you go and add your little characters on the pieces as you lay them down to get points. This particular night we went all out and played with several expansions, which made for quite the battle!

I promise this game will provide hours of fun. Eric and I even play just the two of us sometimes and it's a blast! One of our favorites for sure.

Visiting Janna

My sisters and I were lucky girls to have an amazing babysitter growing up. After my parents got married and moved to California, Janna was in their ward and my mom was Janna's young women's leader. Janna babysat us ALL the time. She told us that instead of hanging out with her friends on a Friday nights, she would call my mom to see if she needed a babysitter for the night so she could come hang out with us. She came on trips with us and everything. It was awesome. So many of my memories as a child include Janna.

My family moved up to Utah when I was 8 and Janna was at BYU, so she would still come up to visit and babysit and we went down there to stay with her in Provo a few times. When my parents would go out of town for long trips she would stay with us. I remember her telling my mom before they left that she should just sign a paper saying if anything happened to my parents while they were gone, she could just have us as her own kids. :) She married her hubby Justin, moved down to California, and had 6 kids. Even with so many kids, Janna has come up to visit us in Utah a lot over the years, coming up for big events like our high school graduations, college graduations, and then for my wedding last year. She is such an amazing friend.

Janna has always talked to us about coming down to visit her over the years, so Kellyn and I finally decided to go down and take her up on it. We road tripped it down, stopping in Vegas to drop Eric off for his guys weekend, and had such a fun time! I never knew 11 hours in a car could be so fun, but that's probably because I've never spent 11 hours in a car with Kellyn. She is a hoot! We had so much fun talking and laughing about life and love and marriage. She is an amazing girl and I had a blast being with her for the weekend.

Janna's kids are so awesome. We had so much fun hanging out with them all weekend. I've never spent much time with little boys because I had all younger sisters, so it was fun getting a glimpse into that world of video games, Star Wars and rocket ship pajamas. Kellyn left with a new 4 year old boyfriend, Connor, and I fell in love with little 6 year old Davin. Janna is an amazing mom- I was definitely taking mental notes while we were there for future reference.

We had such a fun trip. Thanks, Janna, for taking such good care of us while we were there and making the trip so much fun! We love you so much and can't wait to see you again soon!
