Matt and Jen's Wedding

Matt is Eric's best friend. He married Jenny on June 4, 2011 and we were more than excited to be able to be a part of the celebration.

At the rehearsal the night before the big day
What can I say, They love each other.

The reception was a partay!

Pat is weak.
Ryan is strong.
We had so much fun at Matt's wedding. Unfortunately, the real world called and we had to leave the reception at around 11 pm in order to get home for work on Monday. Thanks, Matt and Jen, for such a fun day and for being so great!

We love you and can't wait to see all of our wonderful friends again at Thanksgiving.

The Best Part About My Wedding Dress...

My wedding dress cost $100.

And it was the first dress that I tried on.

I knew right away that I loved it, but I remember thinking... "I can't buy a wedding dress that I found on the clearance rack, right?" But after trying on other dresses and seeing that I couldn't find a dress I liked that cost even a quarter as much, I realized what an amazing thing I had found! So I made a few tweaks... and voila! I am a bargain hunter to the max, and I was so happy with how it turned out.

Before
The dress had a bunch of little bows and flowers on the front and back, which I had removed.
I designed a cap sleeve bolero jacket with a cute wavy lace collar and put in a sweetheart neckline.

Anniversary #1

This last year went by so incredibly fast. I cannot believe that it has already been a whole year since we did this!

This has truly been the best year of my life. It's hard to find words to explain what being married to someone who you really love and are committed to is like...

It's in the small quiet moments when you are snuggled up in your sweats after a long busy day.
When you're in bed just laying and talking and laughing.
Waking up and getting a gentle good morning kiss.
Working together to accomplish something around the house.
Having someone to be with all the time...

I truly feel lucky to be married to my best friend.

We had a great first anniversary! We were both so focused on the holidays and they flew by so fast that it kind of snuck up on us. So we decided to do something low key and went to dinner at Happy Sumo at the Gateway. It was so delicious. We made a quick stop at Blue Boutique :) and then headed home to eat our wedding cake. It's been in my parent's garage freezer this past year, and we were both pretty nervous to eat it because when that fridge gets shut the freezer opens up a little bit, and no one really notices til hours later when things are starting to defrost! But neither of us got sick, so we were good to go!

Now, on to year two! Who knows what this upcoming year may bring....

Our Wonderful Honeymoon...

Oh my goodness, our honeymoon was AMAZING. Most of all because we got to relax, something both of us were in much need of doing after all of the wedding planning and festivities were over. We stayed at the Anniversary Inn on our wedding night and totally loved it. They treated us so great there with a beautiful room and a delicious breakfast in the morning. Then we made the trip up to Park City to spend a few days relaxing, shopping, watching movies, and.... going out to dinner! It was the perfect trip and our hotel was amazing!

Gotta love Park City!

Party Time!

Our reception was so much fun. We had it at the Pierpont Place in downtown Salt Lake, and they did a wonderful job decorating it and making it look beautiful. We had a great time seeing all of our friends who came out to celebrate us and dancing the night away!

The Perfect Day

January 4, 2010 is a day that we will never forget. It was an absolutely perfect day. We could not have asked for it to have been any more beautiful. Of course it was cold, but neither of us felt it. The sky was blue and the sun was shining brighter than ever before. Our ceremony was incredible. Looking around the room and seeing our families and dearest friends was something I will never forget. And the ones who weren't able to be inside the temple were the first ones to greet us as we came out. We are so grateful to everyone who traveled such far distances and also to those who live close by, who were all able to spend our amazing day with us. We are so lucky to have the best family and friends anyone would wish for.

There really was not a single thing that went wrong the entire day... and even if something did, neither of us cared enough to notice. All of the effort and work we put into planning really paid off, and we were able to just try to enjoy the day as it fleeeeew by. And that it did. Far too quickly.

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the day! Enjoy!
