We're Having a Girl!

We are so excited to announce that
baby number two
is a
 GIRL!

I had a suspicion from day one that this pregnancy was different, leading me to believe from the very beginning that we were probably going to have a girl this time around. I was sick the majority of my first trimester, which couldn't have been more different than my pregnancy with Brody. But I didn't want to get my hopes up either way, because I love having a little boy. Brody brings the greatest joy to our lives each and every day, and having a little boy in our family has brought magic and excitement to our life that I never knew was possible.

I knew I couldn't be disappointed either way, so there is no way I could have anticipated the pure joy and incredible excitement I felt when we found out we are having a little girl. I can't stop smiling when I think about this sweet little girl growing and developing inside of me, and my heart melts every time I feel her move. I know she will bring such a special dynamic into our little family. I love that Eric now asks how "his girls" are doing whenever he hugs me and that I can't stop imagining and daydreaming what she is going to look like. And I can't help but swoon at all of the incredibly adorable girls clothes I see everywhere I go!

A few notable things about this pregnancy so far... the nausea is almost completely gone now, which is such a blessing. The worst of it stopped right when I got into my second trimester, and now there's just the occasional occurrence here and there. The worst is still in the mornings when I haven't eaten anything and go in to change Brody's diaper. Yuck. But the good news is that I have found a magic solution to my nausea...

For some reason when I eat one of these, no joke, I feel better instantly.  It doesn't matter if I feel like I'm going to throw up or have just thrown up and feel totally gross, if I stop and eat one of these the nausea literally disappears. Magic, I tell you!

Another fun thing about this pregnancy is that I started feeling little miss move when I was only about 16 weeks pregnant. I remember with Brody waiting and waiting and waiting to feel him move and finally feeling him at around 20 weeks, so it was a fun surprise when I started feeling movements so early. It started off really faint and has progressed to now feeling big kicks all throughout the day. There's no doubt that feeling a baby move inside of you is one of the most incredible feelings in the world.

We can't wait to meet this sweet little one and bring her into our family!
