We decided to have the party at my parents' house since its bigger and not quite as far away as our place in Lehi. Brody and I drove up a few hours early that morning to get all set up and the weather seemed a little dreary but okay. By the time the party was about to start, there was a full blown snowstorm brewing and I was totally convinced that no one would come. But we have amazing friends and family who braved the storm and put out such a great effort to celebrate Brody's big day with us. I am so grateful for all of them!
Being as social as he is, Brody LOVED having so many people around and seemed to get that the attention was on him most of the time. His favorite parts of the day were the balloons, playing with his little friends and grandpa, and getting all of the fun new toys that he got. The cake wasn't really a big hit with him- maybe he hasn't developed much of a sweet tooth yet? But he loved that everyone was gathered around and staring at him in his high chair.
To my sweet little Brody boy, I am so grateful that you came into our family a year ago. Life is full of happiness and sweet tender moments now that you are in my life and I look forward to each day that I have the blessing of spending with you. You are so loving and kind and make everyone around you feel special, whether it's giving them a hug and a few sweet pats on the back or flashing your big toothy grin around. There is not a day that goes by that I am not so incredibly grateful to be your mother. You have made your dad and I so happy this past year, and we can't wait for all of the years that are yet to come! If they come as fast as this one went, you will be driving and off to college in no time! I love you with all of my heart. Loves, Mom
