Two Kid Craziness

Taking care of two kids has proved to be quite an adventure. There have been lots of times I've had to laugh so I wouldn't cry. Like when...

-Brody pulled Brooklyn off the couch when she was 2 weeks old. Don't worry- I caught her, upside down, by the head, before she hit the ground. Phew.

-Our first dinner home alone after my mom and sisters had gone home, we went with something easy and seemingly foolproof: nachos. We forgot about them in the oven, they caught fire and practically burned the house down. Seriously?!

-We were out for the first time as a family of four at Culvers. We ordered, got our food and sat down to start eating, feeling pretty proud of ourselves for getting out with two kids. Just then Brody threw up everywhere. Yummy, right?

-I was putting the kids to bed by myself because Eric was at a church meeting. Brooklyn was on a blanket in the doorway of the bathroom while I gave Brody a bath. Of course, Brody pooped in the tub, so I hurried to get him out and started to clean it up. I looked up and in slow motion saw Brody squatting down and pooping an inch from Brooklyn's face. Yep. It was awesome.

-We went to the zoo and decided to stop by the indoor shark tank and tidepool area on our way out. There are railings all around the water so kids can reach in and touch the fish and splash in the water. I looked down to make sure Brooklyn was ok and in those .2 seconds Brody managed to dive head first into the tide pool. He acted like that was the most fun part of his day. Needless to say, it was a wet and chilly 5 minute walk back to the car in the -10 degree weather.

Oh, what a life! Even on the worst of days I wouldn't ask for any other.
