Pregnancy Update: 33 Weeks

This pregnancy is absolutely f-l-y-i-n-g by. I'm sure there are several contributing factors: our traveling, the move, constantly chasing after Brody... whichever it is, I am so grateful and feel so blessed. Everything has been going great. I feel this little one moving around constantly now, which I think is the very best part about being pregnant. I have definitely entered the stage of more discomfort and am feeling rather large, waking up 4 or 5 times a night to go to the bathroom, and moving has become much more difficult, but besides all of the usual things I feel so lucky to be feeling so well.

The only bump in the road so far has been a high glucose tolerance test. I tested at 144 and they like to see you below 140, so I had to go in for a 3 hour fasting glucose test one morning. The results from that test came back normal so they're not worried about anything. With my family history of type 1 diabetes including my aunt who's diabetes started with gestational then never went away, I'm glad that the test came back normal and that everything is ok.

Now I'm just trying to enjoy my last couple of months before the baby comes giving Brody as much attention as I can (he has no idea what's coming for him!) and preparing here and there for this little one to arrive. I went through all of Brody's old clothes and tried to pick out the gender neutral ones and only came out with white onesies and two or three newborn things. So much for that! But it was so much fun remembering how small Brody was, reminiscing on all of the different stages he's gone through and now looking forward to going through all of those stages with our sweet little girl. I am so looking forward to seeing what she looks like and what her personality is going to be.

One thing I know is that this little miss is going to have to be one tough cookie with the rough and tumbly little man she has for an older brother. I'm sure she'll come out somewhat warned (and probably scared) because she already gets hit, kicked and climbed on constantly by him. And so the brotherly love begins!

I feel so blessed and I'm so grateful for this exciting stage of life that we are in. I am so enjoying this one-on-one time I have with Brody while also looking forward to welcoming this sweet little friend of his into our family. My role as a mother is one that I hold so near and dear to my heart and I pray I can spread the love I feel for Brody to our little girl without taking anything away from him.
