Being a Mom

I have come to a striking conclusion.

Being a mom is hard.

When you're pregnant everyone tells you that you won't get sleep and how big of an adjustment it will be. They tell you everything is about to change. While I had been generously warned, I must not have been really listening. I was thinking I would be able to hit the ground running into this whole motherhood thing. I was planning on having this baby without letting it slow me down.
It is safe to say I have been more than sufficiently humbled.

Hard? Yes.

Worth it? Completely. 100%. Without a doubt.

While there is absolutely no doubt that life has changed dramatically since Brody was born into our family, I completely love being his mom and wouldn't trade it for anything else in the world. I have developed a level of love I never knew existed. There is nothing like the feeling you get when your baby gives you a huge gummy grin. There is nothing better than when he looks into your eyes with a long loving gaze (since they can't tell you any different, we'll just assume it's loving, right?!) There is no greater satisfaction than calming your baby down when he's upset.

I am so grateful that I get to spend each day loving this little one and being so amazed that he is mine.
