I'm Dreaming of a Packer Christmas...

Spending Christmas in Wisconsin was an absolute blast. Since it was my first Christmas away from home, I definitely missed my family and wished that I could be with them too. But our family and friends in Wisconsin did a good job of trying to keep me distracted and making sure that I had a great Christmas!

The trip started off with the 20 hour drive across Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa and into Wisconsin... only this time around it took about 25 hours thanks to the lovely state of Wyoming. The roads were covered with ice and snow, leaving us no choice but to go 30 miles per hour across the ENTIRE state. We saw about a dozen cars spun out and stuck in snow banks along the sides of the highway, and a semi turned completely over on it's back... but we made it safe thanks to Eric's incredible safe driving skills. :)

Eric's family has so many fun Christmas traditions. One of my favorites is on Christmas Eve- all of the extended family gets together and Santa comes to visit and hand out presents. The kids (and the adults) LOVE it! This year Eric got to dress up as Santa and he did such a good job!
Santa rings the doorbell :)
Handing out all the gifts
I love Santa!
Christmas morning was a lot of fun too. Eric's brother Jeff came over so we got to spend Christmas morning watching the excitement of our nephews Tyler and Ryan open all of their presents! Kids make Christmas so much fun!

I had the best Christmas ever thanks to my amazing husband who surprised me with Green Bay Packer tickets for the Dec 26th game against the Giants! I seriously could not have been more happy, excited or surprised! I probably should have gotten some sort of hint from the Packer's blanket Erin had given me and the hand warmers Eric's brother Jeremy gave us for presents, but it hadn't clicked. The best part about the present was that Eric got up in front of the Christmas tree in front of everyone and read this poem that he had written:

T'was the day after Christmas, and all the family in town,
Is wondering softly, what we do now!?

The presents are opened, the egg-nog is gone.
The Devil Bars all eaten, that didn't take long.

The parties were fun, but alas they are over,
As we return home, maybe the only ones sober.

Lauren looks at her husband to say "Is this really it?"
One day after Christmas and here we sit?!

Just stare at each other and be really bored?
Well, we've spent all our money, there's nothing more to afford.

So the scene plays out as it has before,
And here is what you see from the Price's front door.

Dad's on the couch, in his hoodie and vest,
Snoring softly with a book on his chest.

Laura just tooted, but there's nothing that's wrong.
It wasn't her fault, it was Quin all along.

Scot's reading a book about death and destruction.
Though he isn't quite talking, he's still right about something.

Mom's favorite Christmas music still blaring upstairs,
No one can tell his it's over, nobody dares!

So now Lauren wonders, "Is this why we came?"
Is every day we have left gonna be boring and lame?

So Eric starts thinking of what can be done,
To make the day after Christmas most second to none.

He ponders and thinks and saves all his money,
Til he gets an idea that's brilliant and funny!

He'll make her the envy of every one in Wisconsin,
And every member of the family in Utah called Monson.

For as they sit at their house and mine,
She'll be sitting at the 40-yard line.

In GREEN BAY Wisconsin to watch the Packers,
She'll even be eating some cheese and some crackers!

Two tickets to Lambeau is just the thing!
The thing that will bring Lauren to sing!

Merry day after Christmas to everyone she sees!
As they watch her on national TV wearing CHEESE!

Isn't that so creative and thoughtful?! It was absolutely amazing and I cried the whole time he was up there reading it.
Best present EVER!
It was truly an incredible Christmas. Definitely a great way to start our years of many married Christmases to come with a bang!
Merry Christmas! 2010
