Wonderland

Eric got tickets for us to see Alice in Wonderland on Friday. I wasn't expecting to like it very much because I have not been a fan of many of Tim Burton's movies, but I actually ended up really liking it! It ended up being a pretty wild experience, and not just because the movie itself was a little odd...

Eric and I got to our seats right as the movie was supposed to begin. We went to an earlier showtime at the Gateway and it was on opening day, so the theater was filled with lots of families and kids. The previews finally started about 10 minutes later, and we sat back in our seats ready to enjoy the show...

We both thought it was a little funny because a lot of the previews were for rated R movies, a little odd to be shown before a PG movie, but we didn't think any more of it until the movie started and what was the first scene? A suspenseful scene where a giant scary beast jumps out and slices through the stomach of a man with his HUGE claws...

Blood, guts, and gore!

Bah!

It turns out that they had accidentally started showing the wrong movie! And not just any movie-- it was the rated R thriller "Wolfman"... yikes for all of the little kids! I'd never seen anything like that happen before! They ended up moving us to a different theater and starting the right movie. The whole theater ended up getting free movie tickets for the slight mishap!

Getting to see a good movie AND get free tickets for the next one?? Score!

haha. That is way too funny! I can't wait to see Alice in Wonderland. I was always a fan of the book and Through the Looking Glass... which I hear they used a bit of in the Tim Burton adaptation. We'll have to discuss it after I finally see it! Maybe we could even go see a flick as a double date... you can use those free tickets! haha. Love you. Miss you.
