Deer Valley 2011

We had such a fun opportunity to go up to Deer Valley with my family last weekend. There was an auction for the Young Women in my parent's ward and my dad won the auction for our neighbor's awesome condo in Deer Valley for a week. It was absolutely gorgeous! I loved being up there in the summer time and the weather was totally perfect. Eric and I had school and work during the week, but we were able to go up and enjoy a weekend with everyone and had the best time.

We took a beautiful walk up to the Silver Lake Lodge and hiked up the mountain a little ways. It was so pretty! PS please ignore how translucent my skin looks next to my negro sisters!
Eagle pride haha!
We went up to the Alpine Slide and had so much fun!
Cute Tay
Syd went a little too slow for Erin's liking :)
My dad was getting pretty into it!
We also went on the Alpine Coaster, which was so much fun! It is pretty much a roller coaster that goes down the side of the mountain, through all of the trees and the lovely wilderness. It's a peaceful ride up to the top, and we were all surprised at how fast it was on the way down! Super fun.
Enjoying being one with nature!
A lot of our trip consisted of this- games! This is one of my favorites, Ticket To Ride. If you have not played this, you HAVE to try it! It is seriously so much fun!
On Sunday we went to the brunch and Stein Erickson Lodge, and it was truly one of the most tasty and amazing brunches I have EVER seen. We had so much fun taking trip after trip to each buffet table and just laughing at how full we all were after!
Eric contemplating life and it's meaning.

I am so grateful to have a family that I love so much. My sisters and parents are seriously my best friends (after Eric, of course!), and I treasure all of the time we get to spend with them. Love you guys!

Pasadena & Austen's Wedding

We had such an amazing trip this past weekend. We had the opportunity to travel down to Pasadena, CA with my cousin Tommy and his wife Katie to my other cousin Austen and his new wife Kaira's wedding. Tommy, Austen and I were all close to the same age growing up and they are two of my closest cousins. I was born in Pasadena and grew up there until I was 8. We also visited the area almost every summer growing up when we'd take summer vacations down to the beach in Newport or surrounding areas. So the area holds a place so near and dear to my heart. The wedding was amazing. We are so happy for Austen that he has found happiness with an amazing girl like Kaira. She looked absolutely stunning and the whole day was such a blast.

We were able to spend a lot of time with family that day. It helped remind me what an incredible blessing families are. I love my family so much- not only my immediate family but my extended family as well. We had so much fun catching up and just hanging out at and after the wedding.

I absolutely love my cousins! Don't they look stunning?!
The four amigos of the trip. We had so much fun hanging out so much with Tommy and Katie.
The handsome groom and handsome hubs. Austen really reached out to Eric when he became a part of the family, which meant so much to both Eric and I.
All of us are married now! Hooray!
The three cousins, now and then.
This is most of the family that was there. (Uncle Mike had to leave for his flight early).
Kaira was recently baptized into the church, so we are looking forward to the next celebration for these two as they are looking to get sealed in the temple in a year.

We had a blast that night as we spent time just hanging out in our hotel room talking about great old memories. We got a Domenico's pizza, which took us back to great memories of pizza out by my grandma's pool. We had fun with Tommy, Katie and Amy out in the amazing hot tub until waaaay past it's closing time and had some great discussions and laughs about life.

We left Sunday evening, but we were able to have an amazing last day in Pasadena. We slept in and checked out of our hotel at the last possible second, which was sooo nice. Then we went to Annendale Country Club, or "the club", where my grandma has been a member for decades for brunch. It was absolutely beautiful and so incredibly delicious. Tommy has done a lot of research on my Nonno (grandpa in Italian) so we were able to talk a lot about him and what an amazing life he lived. He was in incredible man who I feel so lucky to call my grandfather. We went to visit his grave, which is in the biggest and most beautiful cemetery I have ever seen. His grave is at the very top of the rolling hills that make up the cemetery, in the most peaceful garden guarded by a Cristus statue. It was beautiful and amazing.

Outside our beautiful hotel, waiting for "big blue", the glorious blue Dodge minivan we rented for the trip.
At Annendale in front of the beautiful golf course. What a good looking couple!
Forest Lawn, visiting Nonno's grave.
Pinkberry! Deeeelicious. (Although the customer service wasn't great according to Eric) ;)
It was an incredible trip, and more than anything I was so happy to show Eric the places that are such a large part of my past and that helped form who I am today. It was a special trip that I will hold near and dear to my heart forever.

Atlanta: February 2011

When I married Eric I was lucky enough to not only gain an amazing husband but also an absolutely adorable step-daughter. We went to Atlanta to visit Aurora this last week and had an absolute blast. We get to go in and basically just party it up with this sweet girl for a few days, then give her back to her mom to do all of the disciplining :) Eric is an amazing dad and I love watching what a wonderful father he is.

Being a step-mom has been an amazing adventure so far. Aurora is such a well behaved and polite girl, much to the credit of her amazing mom. She is incredibly sweet and loving, always giving hugs and kisses and saying "I love you daddy. I love you Lauren." She loves her dad soooo much.

She is definitely ALL girl, with a love for anything pink, barbie or princess. This trip was an especially fun one for me because I felt like our connection grew a lot as we painted nails, went shopping, had dance parties and talked about boys. She is already a heartbreaker and will definitely give her parents a run for their money as a teenager with all of the boys she'll have chasing her!

We always start the trip off with a visit to Chuck E Cheeses. It's definitely a highlight of the trip! Don't you just LOVE that hair?!
Seeing Gnomeo and Juliet in 3D!
Lovin some Buffalo Wild Wings
Bubble bath!
Swimming at our hotel
This place was awesome. It had a bunch of big blow up toys to climb on and jump around in. So much fun!
The little princess with her new jewelry!
Flying kites!
Love the carousel
Bowling

She gets the rock star genes from her dad :)

She seriously knows the words to just about every song that comes on the radio. And she looooves to dance!

We will definitely miss this girl! Hopefully it won't be too long before we can go back!
